Artist Spotlight

David Werner, producer/composer

David's relationship with Rob Deaner goes back to the late 1980's and a chance meeting in a rock club through an introduction from a singer that Rob was working with. After getting to know each other for a few months, David asked Rob to help with the computer MIDI programming and keyboards of a self-produced record that he was planning. After nine months of hard work, one of David's songs that came from those sessions was "Rock The Craddle of Love" which was soon to be a huge hit for Billy Idol. David and Rob continued there relationship through the years producing countless demos and records.

Notible among Mr. Werner's productions that Rob helped with in the past were recordings of David's songs with Billy Idol, Mark Copley's solo debut on RCA, Recording Tarkan's vocals on two songs of David's on the latest Tarkan record, and the latest offering by Mary Fahl, "Mary Fahl's Dark Side of The Moon". Much of Mary's record was recorded in upstate New York, with some overdubs in Boston and the mixing done in LA. Rob created some of the drum loops, various other sounds and noises, editing, and did some early mixing. "One of the coolest things during the Mary Fahl record was the use of technology and the internet during the mix sessions" Rob states. "Legendary mixer Bob Clearmountain was mixing the record in his studio in Los Angles, and David and I were at Market Street Sound listening to the audio stream and seeing Bob by video in real time, and visa-versa. We were able to make decisions about mix updates and communicate them to Bob, all in real time. Too cool!" When it came time for mastering we did a similar thing with Michael Fossenkemper from New York. David spends much of his time in New York, LA, and Europe. But when he's in Pittsburgh, Market Street Sound is his home base.
